NXT EVO connecting pins THQ

I just bought a Gladiator NXT EVO, two THQs, and a SEM all seperately because it was cheaper shipping from the US than all together from China. The videos for setup are great, however when going to connect the THQ to the NXT, the video says to connect the 3pin side to NXT and 4pin to THQ. There is not a 3pin female port on my NXT. Do I need to buy them all together or is there a workaround for a 4pin to 4pin connection. The picture below is of the connection, with a current 4pin to 4pin.
