Can't Figure Out How to Add Addition Axes

Postby Freakaman » Sun Jan 04, 2026 7:36

Software: .93.42
Firmware: 2.19.B

On my STECS MiniPlus, I'm trying to add an addition axis to make the pinky encode into a trimmer. I was able to do it with the middle encoder, but for some reason I can't get axis number 9 to register in the Device config. The wizard will only allow me to go as high as axis 8.

Windows is limiting any USB device to 8 axes. The native software has a workaround for this - can split the device into 2 virtual controllers. Change the VC from No to 1 in the Global/Common panel and you can program 8 more axes.

Click the inverted chevron button and enable 'New Opt'. This will allow you to input an axis id higher than 8 (then also do as Fallout9 says).

Thanks to the both of you; I just have one more question. I am unable to get the axis to its limits. It stops just short of the extremes. I figured out how to change the multiplier(?) using the MPL to get it close to 1 K.

Try and keep the multiplier to a power of two. 1024 should work perfectly rather than 999.
