STECS for Rudder

Postby DDT » Sun Jun 29, 2025 21:54

Is it possible to configure any function on a STECS Throttle to operate rudders comfortably? Or any other VKB throttle for that matter. I notice there are two flat switches or something on the front of the STECS in the photos. Can they be used to operate rudders?

I've been reading feedback that assigning the triggers on the front of STECS to an axis to serve as rudders gives an imprecise rudder action, plus when using a split throttle it makes the triggers impractical. Are there any other axises available within finger reach while hand is on the throttle that could serve as rudders?

2. Is there an axis within finger reach that can serve as Zoom in/out?

You can program the 2 front triggers as an axis if you follow the instructions from Ron's link. Or any 2 other buttons you might be comfortable with. Also, a ministick could also be used.
For Zoom in/out you have 2 axes you can use, one under thumb, the other one under the pinkie.
