Unable to upgrade firmware on Gunfighter MKIII (Black Blackbox)

Postby sveppur » Sat May 11, 2024 14:13

Good afternoon, I'm currently trying to upgrade my Gunfighter MKIII base to the latest firmware, but every time I attempt to do it, after putting it into the bootloader mode, I get the following message inside the bootloader

It's been a while since I last upgraded firmware on the device, so could it be some compatibility issue? Please advise on the steps I should take to successfully proceed with the upgrade.

What about Mk2? Have you upgraded FW earlier? With what version?

I think I did the upgrade once, sometime after initially purchasing the base with MCG Pro stick back in 2021.
By Mk2, do you mean I should try flashing the Mk2 firmware, even though I’m using Mk3?

What version of BB you have can be determined by two key features - the color of the Sys button and the number of pins in the 2 round connectors.
On MK3 they are the same, four each.

Alright, turns out it was a user error on my side, as I was mistaking the Mk3 firmware as being dedicated for the Mk3 Gunfighter base, while it clearly says Blackbox in the firmware file's name. My Mk3 base is of course paired with an Mk2 Blackbox.

Case closed, thanks for the help guys!
