MKIII Base + SCG only 75% on Y-Axis *help*

Postby Trib » Fri Jun 30, 2023 19:27

Hey Guysa!

I ordered a table mount for my MKIII Base with Kosmosima Grip (SCG) and mounted the base on it. I had to unplug all the cables so that the whole thing is nice and neat. When I reconnected my sticks and put them back into operation, I had to recalibrate them. I noticed that when I move the Y-axis forward the deflection only goes to ~75%/100% and then stops (picture attached).
as if the mechanical path would be limited, which is not the case. When I move the stick forward, it doesn't bump the table or anything. All other axes work fine and as they should.

I have then dismantled the stick and looked to see if any defect has occurred, which is mechanical in nature. However, I could not find anything. The springs are fine, no screw or so that blocks.

I have then carried out the following points:

- new firmware for MK2 blackbox + stick flashed (_BB_Mk2_GunFighter_SCG_v2_14_A)
- All cable connections disconnected and reconnected
- Recalibrated stick by running in program: VKBDevCfg-C.exe and doing "Default" - Start Calibr (move axes) - End Calibr.

It remains with the 75% on Y-Axis :(

Hardware:
Right: MK3 Base + Kosmosima Grip (SCG) with Blackbox MK2.
Left: Gladiator Premium Evo (with USB to PC; works fine, no problems at all!)
Feet: VKB Pedals (connected with SCG (right) in BB MK2)

everything worked so far actually flawless ... I am at a loss, can anyone help me out?

Remove the case and post more pics with the gimbal please. Not sure, but from your pic seems like one of the dampeners pads fell off.

It looks good, is the axis range still restricted with the gimbal out of the case?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes. Even when I bend the axis with my fingers. :(

Show the Profile-Axes tab (logical and physical axes).

The numbers 255 indicate an uncalibrated axis, they should not be in the indicated places. I advise you to do the calibration with this particular tab open, so to speak "into the dark". This will immediately determine the correct calibration after a reboot.
After starting the calibration, move the handle to the desired boundaries of the axes that are convenient for you, and not to the mechanical stop. And hold for half a second in extreme positions. With this sequence, you can set the axes for different moves forward and backward, they may differ in scope, but they will still work out the entire range from 0 to 65535. Move the HAT to the stop or in a circle.

Hey, I did this exactly as you wrote it. Here are my new values. If I now switch to the "test mode", the Y-axis goes forward as before the approx. 75%. I waited and held for about 5 seconds when moving forward.

Forwarding I now get a value of: 12736

Moreover, I still made it after this video here in "blind flight": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70Hu3f-IQaI

If you move the joystick along that axis does it feel like it stops short or it travels the whole range unobstructed? Compare it to the other axis, they're the same range.

It feels the same range. I do not notice any difference. it also feels very smooth on all axes. without a "mechanical blockage" or something like that.

Put the number 11 instead of 10, write this into the controller with the Set button and re-calibrate this axis. Then show a screenshot.
