I just received a brand new Gladiator NXT Evo Premium today and so far everything seems to work fine. Except I just noticed a worrying characteristic: every time I twist the rudder to the left, the base lights turn off. Again, it's brand new, and this was my first session with the stick right after assembly. Depending on how far I twist it, either the red or blue light switches off until I let the rudder return to normal. I am not excessively torqueing the stick in any way; the light issue occurs when the stick is twisted from 95-100% of the way. And it only occurs when the stick is twisted to the left, not the right.
Again, everything else does seem to function fine regardless, it's just the lights toggling. Being a brand new product though, I really do hope nothing is defective enough to cause other issues. With the arduous shipping I'd rather not have to send it back for another one, but if there really is a severe defect in the wiring then it's obviously worth it.
Edit: After taking a break, I turned it back on only for the red light on the left to no longer come on at all. Not really sure what this means, as I don't know what it's supposed to look like when it's functioning properly.
Lights functioning improperly?

Maybe you left no slack for the wires inside the base and when you're twisting the grip you're pulling at the cable, open up and make sure the cable is free when handling the grip on all axes. Post a picture with the joystick with bottoms up and no plate.

Re: Lights functioning improperly?
While I am certainly not outruling anything, I do doubt that to be the case. During assembly I basically gave the wire as much slack on the gimbal side as conservatively as I could without putting the other side and connector under tension; the wire doesn't come into contact with anything or get pinched during any movement of the stick.
I attached two photos from slightly different angles. From the way it looks there's not really any more slack to give the wire, and it seems to have enough room to move freely where it is.

Re: Lights functioning improperly?
When you're saying the red and blue lights are switching off which LEDs are you referring to, the ones on the base or the ones on the grip?
Have you clicked the Default button, then the Find&Autoconfig button and calibrated?

Hmm, weird.
So far as I know, and I also received NXT EVO recently and tried out for the first time, the two LEDs on the base part of which left is red and right is blue, the blue LED is turned on constantly all the time while the red one is blinking frequently, and this situation continues until I change the LED settings manually in VKBDevCfg software that can be downloaded from the official homepage.
But, it is not supposed that the blue LED is changing according to stick position.
Anyhow, try VKBDevCfg and reset NXT to default status. There also is LED setting for MARS axis status so try it, too.

Re: Lights functioning improperly?
After downloading and going through VKBDevCfg (I had not even used it until now) all of the information seems to be right, and none of the options had been messed with or anything. Regardless, I reset the NXT to default status as you said.
Since yesterday night, only the blue light stays on solid and the red light blinks at a consistent tempo, just like you said. I thought at first that everything had solved itself, but then I tried twisting the rudder to the left. Again, the red light stopped. Instead of continuing to blink, it stays off. The blue light starts pulsing a little bit too as if it's receiving an inconsistent amount of power. It flickers between dim and bright, all the while the red one is completely shut off. As soon as the rudder is returned to the normal position, the lights also return to normal.
Oh yeah and these are the LEDS on the base, not the joystick.
None of the other axes effect the lights either. Only the rudder causes a disturbance, while pitch and roll do not effect the LEDS even if the stick is at the edges of both axes.

Re: Lights functioning improperly?
If you see the red light on the base it means your joystick haven't been properly set up; please follow the guide.

Re: Lights functioning improperly?
This seems to have worked, thank you so much. Is there any way I can turn the red light on in the DevCfg (temporarily) to now test if the rudder has an effect on the lights?
