Who here owns a vkb gunfighter mk3 with a long extension?
When I move along the y axis to the end points and back through the center, the base crackles and twitches, as if the cams grind.
I disassembled the rubber cover and tried to pin point the origin.
My initial thought was tangled tension springs, but that’s not it. The cams seem fine as well. I think it’s somewhere at the sensor rings. It’s rather annoying, since my prime motive to shift from the Warthog was to avoid sticktion. It’s not sticktion, but very unsmooth.
Anybody any ideas?
I‘ll try and post a video

Re: Unsmooth transition through axis center with extension
Stop using it like that, as you might do irreversible damage inside. Open the base at the bottom and check if the cams are properly tightened and aligned. Please watch this video to see how the components inside the base should be adjusted in order to have good working device.

Could it be bad bearings?
I use #50 springs with the extension and the Warthog grip.
There’s a distinct „clunk“ when pass through the center, but only if I previously moved to the most aft position on y axis.

Won't know until you'll have a look inside.
