Creaking sound/feel in Ultimate Hat

The master mode Hat ( the 4 way plus push) in my Ultimate Grip has developed a creaking sound/feel when moving the Hat left and right.
Not in up and down, only left and right. More so on the left. And moving left feels somewhat course rather than a smooth motion. Button presses are still actuating with no problem.
Should I be concerned on this?

Open up the module and see what happening inside; there are only 2 screws on top and 2 on bottom to remove after you pull out the cap.

Ok so finally I got around to taking this hat out and having a look as the creaking was getting worse.
Can't say I really saw anything out of the ordinary, but all I did was take the hat assembly out of the grip and move the switch around a little. I have put it back together and that seems to have at least freed it up a little, creaking feel and sound still occuring when moving hat to the left but it is a little smoother now especially in the other directions.
I did not take the back cover off the switch assembly as I just did not want to go that deep into it.

I think what I am going to do is just leave it as is as it is operational, and contact VKB support and see if I can just order and pay for a new Hat assembly. This is not the POV hat that comes installed on the Ultimate Grip but the alternate 4 way plus push button that comes as an extra with the Ultimate Grip. Hopefully I can communicate that properly with VKB support when making my inquiry.

It's surely covered by warranty, so no worries about that.
