VKB T-Rudder Mk. IV Help Mapping [Solved]

Postby jarg2001 » Wed Nov 17, 2021 22:07

Hello, I recently received my brand new pedals and cannot seem to get them to work in any flight simulation so far. I am not sure if I am even calibrating them correctly in the VKB software as I cannot seem to get the pedals to register any input when pressing them. I have hooked everything up correctly and there is currently a single blue light lit on my black box connected to the pedals. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you!

1. Download VKbDevCfg and run is as Admin;
2. Click on the Default button under Tools tab;
3. Go to Test/Axes, then click on the Start Calibr. button;
4. Press the rudders slowly a few times left and right, then click End Clibr.
5. At this point they're calibrated and ready to get assigned in games. You'll have to assign them to analog controls though (axes), not digital (buttons).

Alright I've done all these steps, and still cannot configure anything for axes controls in different flight simulators. It just seems as though no input is being detected when I press the pedals. Should any of the axes bars move when I am calibrating them as none of mine moved at all.

The blue light on the black box was blinking when calibrating and then stopped blinking and is solidly lit up blue again after pressing End Calibration. Also the Rot X slider went back down to 0 once the calibration ended. My firmware is v2.071 and I have just purchased these brand new directly from VKB so I'm not sure what else I may be missing here. Thanks for the quick reply and patience as this is my first VKB product! :)

P.S. I am a regular user on this machine and not the Admin user. I ran the VkbDevCfg as Admin however. Figured I'd add this piece of information if it makes any difference at all in how the software works or any assumptions it makes about system privileges.

If you press either left or right on your rudders you should see the slider on RotX moving left and right. If it still doesn't move reset to default and try again, it should work, everything looks good in your screenshots.

Yeah, I don’t see the RotX slider move at all when I press on the pedals. I reset to default again and still the slider doesn’t move. Did I get a bad cable perhaps in shipping? Also are any other lights on my black box supposed to be on other than the blue one?

Unplug the cable connecting the BB with the rudders and plug it back firmly, both ends.

So I tried unplugging the cable which I have before, but this time unplugging it and swapping the ends of the cable that went into the black box and the end that went into the pedals did it! No idea why that works now, but now on my black box I have a blue light and a green light on the other side that are both lit now! I then was able to calibrate and saw the slider move! Looks like it’s able to be mapped in games now! Thank you very much for your help! Now I know what to look for at least with both colors of lights active on the black box. Thanks again for your assistance I really appreciate it! :)
