How to Replace 1 of 8 Axis on MCGU Blackbox with T-Rudder?

Postby Talorien » Wed Jun 02, 2021 17:08

Hi there,

I was lucky enough to recently get a T-Rudder to connect to my MCGU Blackbox. I've done so and the Blackbox shows two green device lights and the blue light.

Version Details
VKBDevCfg version v.091.78 (NJoy v2.03.0)
MCG Ultimate Twist flashed (v 2.025 Mk 2)
No T-Rudder device firmware installed (I think this isn't needed as it's connected through MCGU Blackbox? See below)

I understand from fallout's comment below from this post that I need to remove one of unused MCGU axis (I only use one POV ministick and have replaced the other with regular 5-way hat). However, I don't know how to do this in VKBDevCfg despite trying a few likely-looking options. When I try to calibrate, the Rudder axis doesn't show in Test > Axes because the BlackBox is already at the 8-axis limit.

I understand that I could workaround the problem by flashing with MCGU non-twist device firmware, but I'd like to keep the twist axis on the stick.

Thanks for your help!

The rudders won't show up in the device list in the native software if they're connected through other device's Black Box. If you want to use them together just calibrate both devices and you're good to go.

If your other device is a MCG Pro/U with twist module the rudders won't work at first because of Windows' limitation of 8 axes per device. It still could work, but only by replacing one of the existing axes in the system.

Please show screenshots of axes settings - physical and logical. Also external devices tab.
