Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
Trying to flash the Gladiator II with a MCG grip, but now getting the message "Bios detected USB overcurrent and will shut down." Possibly, installing only one tapered grip screw mount was the cause, but there's a pin preventing the contacts misaligning I would hope. I would like to throw parts at it, make it functional. Also, I saw somewhere that it is not advisable using the MCG grip on the Gladiator II. Is that correct?

Re: Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
How exactly are you trying to connect the grip to the base, do you have the adapter kit installed?
Re: Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
The grip is installed. This was in late 2017 when I sold the house, put everything in storage, retired and moved overseas. I can't login with my old UN and PW to track my last order. Gunfighter III is now available online where I live. so I'd hope this MCG could work on it. Thanks for your help.

Please disregards my previous comment. Could you post some pictures with the connector on the base of the grip and the top of the base?

Re: Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
That's a Gladiator Pro MKII and it looks in great shape! Don't worry, the MCG grip works with it just fine.
If you attach the grip to the base and connect it to computer what happens? Where is that strange message coming from - Windows or VKDevCfg?

Re: Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
I've tracked down my VKB orders and a receipt. I have a warthog adapter installed on my WH grip. There is no adapter on the MCG grip.
I tried to flash the Gladiator/ MCG a few months ago. Re-trying, the base gave flashing red lights and maybe an ozone odor. Not 100% sure about the odor. At that point, when I plugged the USB, W10 gave a message "device not recognized by Windows." All USB ports, both computers. Later, I plugged into a back panel 2.0 USB port on my Desktop PC. Asus Bios popped up with message "overcurrent detected at USB port, will shutdown in 15 seconds." I have a number of Arduino boxes now, some 16 USB plugins. Maybe I need to go into one (of two) 5V, 5amp power hubs available?

Re: Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
Can you open the base and check the boards to see if there's any apparent damage?
Re: Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
There is no apparent damage to the circuit boards. The USB cord mid-length appeared a little swollen and more rigid than the rest of the cord. I cut that section out and looking at splicing the cord. The cord is unusual having what appears to be a ground. My home in Indonesia has no ground. Would the Gladiator NEX work with the MCG grip as well?
Re: Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
How would I go about getting a spare USB cord for the Gladiator Pro II?
Re: Gladiator Pro II USB "overcurrent"
I''ll wrap it up, please excuse my rambling on. The gladiator works after cutting off part of the suspect USB cable. I've already requested a new cable from HQ. W10 recognized and setup the device.

Sounds good! Just keep in mind that you'll have to reflash the device if you plant to swap grips.
