Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.

Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
I have the Gunfighter Mk3 Pro L WW2 Combat Edition. When I ordered it, I thought it had the yaw twist pre installed in the joystick. No such luck. Which of the available grips come with the pre installed twist adapter? Will it work with the L extension? All help is much appreciated. By the way, I fly the IL2 series flight sims only. Tham\nks all...take care...

Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
MCG Pro grip comes in both twist and no twist versions. SCG (Kosmosima) grips and F-14 grips comes in only twist version. All grips with twist module could get locked to block the twist motion.
Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
Thanks for the quick response. Which of the 2 grips would you recommend for WW2 combat sims?

Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
If you like realism, the T-Rudders would be the best for your cockpit. If not, then it really depends on you: F-14 and MCG Pro are replica grips and Kosmosima is general avia/space grip. MCG Pro has the biggest number of inputs and axes, followed by the Kosmosima and lastly by F-14. MCG Pro is also the tallest grip and its best to be used on a mount; Kosmosima and F-14 would work good on a desk too. Also MCG Pro could be installed at an offset angle (max. 15 deg), which would help with a central position (between knees) on an extension; the other 2 don’t offer this option.
Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
Thanks again fallout9. I should have mentioned that I fly primarily in VR and WW2 fighters etc., thusly, I have no need for a lot of buttons given the avionics of that era. Will the KOSMOSIMA twist adapter etc. work with the "L" extension? I guess I should change the springs to #50? I'm new to all of this, and will obviously need help as I go along with setting up this GREAT Gunfighter system. It would appear I'm talking to the right guy. Appreciate all help....take care..

Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
Kosmosima would definitely work, but again - there's no offset mount in it, so handling the grip in a center position would be a bit more awkward than handling a grip with an offset like MCG Pro or KG12. If this is still unclear make a test with your KG12: install the grip in center position with the grip facing straight forward and try to handle it. Then loosen the rusk and rotate the grip to the left; you'll notice that gripping and handling the stick when it's rotated is a bit more comfortable then when it's facing forward. In the end, all grips would definitely work in central position, but I'm mentioning this so you'd be aware of the difference.
Springs are a very personal preference, you'll have to test different combinations and find your sweet spot. What I could suggest is to have 2 springs per axis (instead of a single #50 springs better have 2 x #20 or 1 x #20 + 1 x #30 springs). Here's a guide for adjusting your device - cams, springs, dry clutch.

Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
I already tried my KG12 with the offset at various angles, but I found it more comfortable without the offset. I thought I would need the heavier #50 springs because the 200mm stick extension would make the stick top heavy when the grip is attached. I'm going to order the KOSMOSIMA right now. When it gets delivered, I'll play around with it, and no doubt have more questions. I do appreciate the help you've provided fallout9. I get good, quick, and proper answers. Thanks again...take care...
Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
One more question. Will I need a new firmware update for the Kosmosima?

Yes, every time you swap grips firmware flashing and calibrating are required. Here's the whole set.
Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
Sorry to bug you fallout9, but I would like to know if I should change the cams as well as the springs? Also, how tight, or loose should I adjust the clutch? This relates to my flying WW2 type aircraft that should allow me to kinda "feel" the weight of the plane? Thanks again for your advice and input. take care...

Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
If you'll be using an extension then I suggest to start with Avia-S cams (they come pre-installed), 2 pairs of #30 springs, one pair on each cam and just a bit of dry clutch applied.
There are 4 sets of cams coming with the base: Avia-S and Avia-H, Space-S and Space-H. Avia cams are generally for flight sims and Space cams for well... space sims (but not mandatory); difference is the Space cams are more linear and Avia cams have a more abrupt curve at max deflection to replicate air resistance. The S at the end of title means Soft and H means Hard - Soft cams have a softer transition over axes crossing and a softer return to center; Hard cams have more pregnant characteristics.
About dry clutch, you'll have to try it yourself - if it's a lot of it applied then there's almost no oscillation in grip, but you'll also lose the return to center of the stick. If there's no dry clutch applied then the stick would return to center easily, but will oscillate more if released. You'll have to experiment with these settings, same as with the springs combinations.
Cams is easy to figure out what you like, but with springs and dampers is going to take more time; I'd suggest to watch again the video I've posted above about cams, springs, dry clutch and experiment a while to find your sweet spot.
Have fun!

Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
O.K.,..I'm going to change the springs to #50 and #30. Does it matter what order they get installed? Where does the #50 and #30 go? Which spring goes in first? Does it matter? I haven't received my Kosmosima yet, but I want to have the base springs etc. ready for it's arrival. Thanks again for any and all help. take care...

Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
Stronger spring should get closer to the base of the pin, weaker spring to the top.
Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
Got my new Kosmosima grip, but the configurator doesn't seem to recognize it to calibrate the twist rudder. I twist the handle, and nothing happens. Pitch and roll calibration etc work fine, but no go with the twist function on joystick. Did I miss something? What to do? Thanks all...take care...
Re: Gunfighter MK3 yaw twist adapter.
I forgot to mention, that the red light on the black box is flashing. Did I flash the wrong firmware? What is the exact firmware I should select from the list? Thanks again...take care..
