Hi,
My MCG PRO should be arriving today, according to DHL. I just finished reading through the manual for the VKBDevCFG software, and I'm utterly confused. So if I want to set my stick up for DCS World, can I just create a profile by assigning keystrokes to the stick's hats and buttons. For example, let's just say Shift-A assigned to button 2 on the joystick lowers my landing gear. Will that work or can I not combine keystrokes with Shift,Alt,CNTRL, etc? The manual seems to suggest that you can. Or do I have to use macros?
I've looked for a video tutorial on how to use this software, but couldn't find one. The manual is very difficult to follow. I found a discussion on this forum about using Macros which may prove helpful but its' very dense. If I don't need to use macros, I'd probably like to avoid doing so.
Thanks!
Grifter-RLG.

Hey Grifter, congrats on you new joystick! I could definitely help you assign buttons to keyboard, but why won't you bind your joystick directly into the game? This is way easier and more direct.

Re: VKB NJOY32 PRO software
Well, I may not need to use VKB's software. I would prefer to use the DCS' software. But, I'm not sure DCS will handle Shift states and it refuses to work with wheel dials on my throttle. So I figured better know how to program the stick outside of the game in case I can't get everything to work the way I want it to. I'm also waiting on VKB's throttle, supposedly coming out this year at some point. I doubt very much DCS will accommodate the dial knobs on that throttle and so I may need to use VKB's software. What do you think?

I absolutely convinced that you'll be able to map all controls through game. If you run into any issues you could ask about it either here or on VKB section of DCS forums.

Re: VKB NJOY32 PRO software
I advise you you to use DX button instead of keyboard shortcut. But anyway, yes, you can do Shift+A. I think that doesn't require a macro however it will certainly be important to select the 'classic' keyboard mode and to set a correct delay, something 32ms..

But again, try to avoid keyboard combinaison.. Here is an exemple showing why it should be avoided :

Re: VKB NJOY32 PRO software
Ok thanks guys. Sorry my delayed reply. I'm still waiting on my stick to arrive. Apparently a shipping delay. I will try to program directly in DCS first and see if that works. I'm sure it will. If I have problems, I can always try what you're suggesting, hon0, and program DX buttons. I don't recall reading about those in the manual. I'm sure overlooked something in my haste and so I will go back and take another look if needed. Thanks again!
