It is not loaded the kg12.
if i try to insert there manually (instead of for example the Spacegrip) it won't recognize anyway.
Later i will try again and i will also put some screenshots

Re: Black Box Questions
This is the screenshot of settings for the second analog axis as buttons.
It is exactly the same as i use in the original version. And there it works.
I tried also to change the two povs.
And the behaviour is hydentical. The Original POV used as buttons don't work. While the second one works as POV.

Re: Black Box Questions
To make buttons work, you need to declare two POVs in Global-Common. But keep in mind that if Always is in the Profile-POVs tab, then the buttons will work in parallel with the 5,6 axes.
It is better to assign a second HAT switch uSSw to the central button (analogous to the first HAT switch). To work or axis or buttons. And note that the 26th button is already taken with possible logical flip-flops.

Re: Black Box Questions
Hi, first of all thanks for your reply.
Second, with the original firmware version i have the exact same setting and it works.
But thanks to your reply i discovered that the defaults are different. In effect with the NG multidevice firmware has 1 POV by default.
Here are the screenshots....
This is the NG firmware default setting
And this is the old one for single grip
Anyway after setting 2 povs in global common now my profile works as intended and analogous to the old gen firmware.
About button 26, yes i know and i changed the values of the trigger accordingly (dx24 and dx25 instead of dx24 and dx28).
And for the axis working in parallel, is ok for now...maybe later i will decide to set it as you suggest.
Anyway in order to use the multidevice firmware with the 3 grips i own, I still need to solve 2 issues...one of them is particularly important about the kg12 grip.
To explain better.
I turn off the base (i have an usb hub with an on/off button), I change the grip, and then turn on again.
If i do with MCG Pro or F14 grips, they are automatically recognized, if i do with k12 grip it shows MCG Pro, but obviously the buttons don't work.
In global external i have this...as you can see the kg12 grip is not there by default...but if i try to add it manually it not recognized anyway.
Also i saw on alex site that does not exist yet a NG firmware for the K12 grip....so maybe it is supposed to be in this way?
The second issue that i have is that with F14 grip and NG firmware the button layout is different (different DX numbers, but i can fix this on my own), but most important if i try to use a TEMPO (same as with the old style single firmware..no different settings) it does not work.
Maybe there is something different with the new and old gen firmware that i am doing wrong (like for the pov issue where the defaults were different).
Thanks again

About the F14 issue...this is the screenshot of my settings.
I use exactly the same way to set tempo with MCG Pro, and with the same F14 grip with the older gen firmware (but there as said above the button layout is different...so the pinkie switch is button 7 in the old gen firmware and button 10 in the new one.

To add it manually you have to click on the #5 Gladiator and then, under Device, to change from Gladiator to KG12 stick and press Set. Just to make sure you're following the right procedure, sorry if you already did that.
With buttons changing numbers is not a problem as soon as you'll make your own profile and start transferring it between updates of the firmware; this way you'll keep your own buttons order.
Re: Black Box Questions
I remember to have already tried doing what you describe, just by doing some trial and error.... to be on the safe side I will try again tomorrow.
Anyway about the F14 grip...any idea of why the tempo is not working?

Re: Black Box Questions
Also another question...it is not clear to me.
When i load a profile in the base, i see that different slots are used for different grips (i.e. #1 for MCG Pro, #4 for F14..and i suppose #5 for k12 after the change you suggested).
But do i need to save different cfg files for different grips, or all the slots are saved in the same file?
If so, basically i just need to unplug and change grip...otherwise i need to load the profile when i change grip.
Which is the correct way?

Re: Black Box Questions
Misteries of the electronics...without changing anything, just hitting restart made the tempo to correctly work.
Very strange as usually i just need to press SET when changing something and it immediately works.
So the remaining issue now is the K12 grip...tomorrow will try again now it is very late here

Re: Black Box Questions
That's not how you use Tempo, in your example you just shorted the command. Don't have to check the 2 buttons (or if you really need 2 buttons they have to be different than the used ones), just click on the box of the button you want to set up as Tempo, leave the Short as it is and set up the Long to an available button box. Short will be flashing/ pulsing on short press and Long will either flash too on long press (Tempo1) or hold (Tempo2). There's also Tempo 3, fresh new, with double click. Tempo time (how long you press for Long press could be set up in Global / Common.
Re: Black Box Questions
Yes i need those 2 buttons....as i want a short press to be only the usual key, and long press both of them...That is for DCS planes like the F18 where i use this button both a NWS/Undesignate, which on the ground needs to be hold, and as a modifier. With the MCG Pro i use the same setting and has always worked well for me.
I was directed to this solution by yourself (viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4178&p=39504#p39504) as i am fairly new to the VKB platform i am trying to replicate my old Target profile (which had some really advanced coding in it) which i still use for the Throttle (when VKB throttle will be realeased?I can't wait).
Since we are here i try another question also....is there a way to have the short press also as an hold (until the button is released, or the tempo time is reached)...now i have only a very short pulse (correctly as you described), which works but for me would be better as an hold. I specify that i did exactly this when (until 3 months ago) I used the Thrustmaster warthog and their TARGET software
example of what i used with Target (much easier for me to code then using the GUI)
As you can imagine, a short press (less then 1 second) was holding (not pulsing like here) the dx120 button (my modifier in DCS World), while a long press (more then 1 sec) was holding Dx3 (assigned to NWS/Undesignate in DCS F18) with a short pulse of dx120.
Here i have to do the exact opposite to have something similar to the wanted behavior, as i have to put short press as dx7 (the normal function) and dx29+dx7 for long press (modifier+normal function).
Infact a short pulse won't work as modifier in DCS World, the pulse would not be long enough to be recognized as modifier.
I tried to raise tempo time to 1 second but it is no useful as the short press is always recognized as a short pulse. Would be better for me to have the modifier as a short press because in this way i won't activate every time the function i have with the normal.
Also could you answer to above question on which is the intended way to use profiles with the NG firmware?
Do i need a single profile file for any grip (so 3 cfg files in my case) or i can save everything in the same file as they take different data structures inside the file (and the blackbox when loaded)?
Thanks

Re: Black Box Questions
about the kg12...i remember correctly, i already had put kg12 instead of gladiator but still the grip is not recognized
as you can see from the picture it sees as an MCG Pro, but no buttons works.
And a restart also won't help

Re: Black Box Questions
Thanks.
I saw only difference that I selected kg12 grip instead of gladiator (as directed by fallout9 up). And the axis menu are empty and greyed out (see my picture above).
Anyway mcg pro and f14 sticks works while kg12 doesn’t work in any way.
If i use older gen single firmware it works so its not the grip, its something in the firmware/software.
Anyway following your suggestion i pressed default and this is what i get...very different from you. However as stated many times here i have the kg12 and not the gladiator don't know if it does any difference
