New Gladiator II keeps disconnecting

So I received my Gladiator II today finally after an eager wait. Plugged it in and all seemed fine until I went to calibrate it. Its disconnects from the computer as I do the calibration then reconnects.
I have slowly gone through every button and it seems to be the 'Eject' button. When I press it , it disconnects.

I picked up the joystick and turned it over to have a look at the model number and it disconnect then too.
I have changed USB ports but it still does it.

I think I have a dud

The Mode lights show both Green/Red when it reconnects then goes to just red.

Loose wire maybe?

Actually, I just checked the USB cable and when I wiggle it at the base of the joystick, it disconnects.

Now what?

Had another play around with it today. Definitely the cord where it goes into the joystick base.
I could open it up to see if its an easy fix but I won't.
I have sent a message to VKB North America to get an RMA or instructions on what they want me to do.

Has anyone else had this problem out of the box?

Fixed it!!

VKB told me to open it up and have a look.

The connector at the end of the USB cord inside was just barely connected. Pushed it in all the way and it works perfectly now.
