Dual EVO OTA Space Combat Axis Setup

Postby cannella » Sun Jan 05, 2025 20:17

I have recieived the new Gladiator NXT EVO OTA sticks and gotten them setup, configured and running with Star Citizen under the 'normal' HOSAS setup. Right stick running roll, pitch yaw. Left stick running thrust, and up/down, left/right strafes. This works.
What I had in mind was different. I want to control it like a tank in 3D. Sticks forward = forward, stick back = Back, left forward - right back = Yaw Right & visa versa. Then for the strafes sticks out = up, sticks in = down, left stick out - right stick in = roll right & v.v. Still trying to work out the clutching and auto/non-centering part of that... From reading the configuration manual (understanding 'some') on the axis setups, it looks do-able. Just couldn't wrap my head around it. I am not sure how effective it would be, but I have had this 6DOF control setup burning space in my head since Descent. I'm imaging this setup with head tracking and maybe pedals (if needed) would be a realistic control system for space combat, if not, fun to run at least.

Thanks

This post caught my eye because I too started my joy stick journey with Decent on the funky little gaming board or at least it was funky compared to what we have today I still have access to Kali and I was totally amazed that there are still originals still sitting in chat, Anyway, I am on star citizen with dual sticks, VKB Sim-Pro's and I have the default setup as you have described, I want to be able to sync my roll and yaw so that when I roll I can also slide to the right or left. I have come close to figuring this out with the reverse movement settings but I just cant get the mirror to see it correctly. I am curious why you want both of your sticks to move the exact same way. What years and versions where you playing decent and did you ever play PVP?

stay safe
Martin
