Question on using clutch on Gunfighter Mk III Pro L

Postby dburne » Mon Apr 05, 2021 17:51

Hey gang,
So I have been making some adjustments in my hardware this morning. I use the Gunfighter Mk III Pro L with MCG Ultimate Grip with the 200mm extension.
I wanted to add some damping action with the clutches, so I adjusted them a few turns in on both axis - probably around 6 turns or so.
Been testing it and really like the feel I think especially around center.

However I have discovered now moving the stick to the extreme on the roll axis produces a creaking/popping sound as it gets to the extreme. Only in the roll axis, not in pitch axis. Is this anything I should be concerned with? Should I back off on the clutch a little?

If it's coming from the dampers there shouldn't be any issue on short term, but make sure there's no other problem in there. Also, if you're using the dampers and got some 767A at hand get through the trouble and grease them, it's a world of difference!

Yep as a matter of fact I do have some 767A. Sounds like a good project for this afternoon, was not planning on flying until tomorrow.
Just hope I don't end up screwing a wire up again. Last time I worked inside this thing I ended up apparently with a pinched wire, it was cut in two. Luckily I had solder on hand.

Thanks!

Well I will say for me to be able to get some Nylogel under those dampers would probably require I take apart more than I feel comfortable doing. I better leave as is.

Ok she's back together now, loosed the roll clutch a little more. Still have some creaking at the extremes on the roll axis, not too bad.
It may eventually stop at some point after repeated use. I am sure it is the clutch being a little tighter that is causing this.
Going to leave it for now and see how it does as getting tired of removing that top and adjusting.
