VKB Gladiator 11bit, 12bit, 15bit

Postby MattZentrix » Wed Dec 09, 2020 19:33

I'm trying to use the Gladiator joystick as a controller for an audio project. I'm trying to find a 15-bit control sensor.

I just followed the instructions here to increase the "Precis" value for the Axes to 15bit: https://vkbcontrollers.com/?faq=what-is ... oller-axes

However, when I capture the output of the "VKBsim Gladiator" driver object in Max/MSP - while I do see values going from 0-32767... there seem to be big jumps (0-19-38-59-78-99-120).

Do the sensors actually output 32,768 discrete steps? Or is it more like 11bit, just factored up to 15bit values? (ie. still 2048 steps just with different number values assigned to each step)

I also noticed this, when using more than 11-bit.

Alright so sounds like it is down to the hardware. My search continues...
