VKB T-Rudder MKIV Pin Bent

Postby gechenh » Wed Nov 04, 2020 17:04

Hello,

I have a MKIV T-Rudder. I found the pins(bolts) connecting the cam and arm are bent.

This is caused by maybe not tightening the nut on top enough after reassembly. Totally my problem.

Now I want to replace the pins. Are these just some bolts I can by from homedepot? If so please suggest a size. Or if these are some grade 8.8 duplex bolts I can't get from hardware store? if so can you guys give me a set of these bolts? thanks.

There are ISO 4014 M5x30 with a Torx head, but they will also go with a hex. Watch this video to be sure you have all the details set.

Open the ticket on the dealer web site. Better to change the cam. Not easy to untighten the screws because they are fixed by strong thread locker.
