Hacking the extension for a MkI Gunfighter?

I believe the difference between a MkI Gunfighters and a Mk II (and the respective versions of the MCG Pro) is that the pin and flat connectors have been reversed.

If that's the case, could one of the fine fellows in VKB's workshop tell me how easy it would be to just remove the two connector housings on each end of the extension, unsolder one of the the connectors, pull out the 'still-soldered' connector and wire and put it all back together reversed?

It's worth mentioning, I've modded my Virpil throttle to add a Hall effect mini-stick under the thumb so I'm not afraid of a little 'hackage' but I should mention I don't have the facilities of a well equipped engineering workshop, just a decent soldering station, a Dremel and an an over-inflated sense of my abilities!

Had it been this easy we would have just told people how to do it, and avoided all that long and painful transition from revA to B.
This said, it is still true that something made by a man can be re-made by another man, the question is time and mess.

Well I'm only doing this because you chaps have stopped making the MkI extension!

I'll give it a go and if it works I'll post a "How I did it" thus giving MkI GF owners some hope.
