Repeated button inputs on STECS and Gladiator – how to disable?

Postby Mireco » Sat May 03, 2025 13:02

Hi everyone! :)

I'm new to this community and to the world of VKB devices, so first of all – thank you for having me! I'm really impressed by the quality of the hardware and looking forward to getting deeper into the configuration side of things.

I have both a STECS and a Gladiator, and I'm running into something I'm not quite sure about: When I hold down a button on either device, it keeps sending repeated inputs, kind of like a keyboard would when you hold down a key. So probably its normal...

Is there a way to disable this? Or to slow the inputs down? I'd like the button to send just one input, even if I hold it down longer.

Thanks so much in advance for your help and patience – I really appreciate any advice you can give!

Best regards,
Mireco

How do you register outputs? Have you mapped joystick buttons to keyb shortcuts? What versions of SW&FW do you use?

Neither on a keyboard nor on a joystick is it the peripheral itself that is triggering the repeat events, it is the software that is reading it. On a keyboard, that us usually done by the operating system, on a joystick it would be the program itself. What program are you using that is treating the buttons you hold as repeated presses?
