GNX-SEM Mode Switch function

I have Gladiator EVO and a ww2 throttle with a GNX-SEM (Combo) and a added GNX-SEM for even MORE buttons! They are all coupled together in a intuitive arrangement. I don't think I understand how the MODE switch functions. Could someone give me an example of how I would use the MODE switch? Does it let me remap each switch on the controller to a different function according to the MODE position 1-4 ? Trying to wrap my head around how I could use MODE in a flight sim
