New Gladiator Premium issue with Y-Axis

Postby david782 » Tue Apr 12, 2022 16:29

Hi,

I was asked to make a new ticket in the technical support forum by VKB Australia.

I recently purchased a Gladiator Premium
I'm encountering issues with the Y-axis. The joystick is experiencing Y-axis drift when i return the joystick to neutral. Additionally the joystick is unable to register Y-axis limit values when I push the joystick to the maximum Y-axis positions.

I've only used this joystick for ~10 hours and this issue seems to have come up recently. It may have occurred earlier but I did not notice until now as the stick is unusable since the Y-axis centre drifts and is inconsistent.

I have tried:
*Updating to the latest firmware
*Resetting to the default settings using the VKBDevCfg application
*Recalibrating multiple times
*Using the joystick with a different device and usb port.

However, this has not had any effect on resolving this issue.

I've also followed the steps in the quick start guide as requested by VKB Australia and this has also not had any effect.

I’ve attached some screenshots from the VKB joytester app showing this.

Post screenshots showing the Profile/Axes/Physical and Logical Axes charts and Global/External/ExternalDevices panel.

Your joystick is not calibrated. This is confirmed by the numbers 255,255,0 in the physical axes. Restart the calibration from the configurator and go through it again.

I think I selected an autoselect option? under Global/NXT Modules which may have uncalibrated my stick before submitting my previous screenshots.

I've recalibrated the joystick but the issue still continues - please see updated screenshots.

Look at this thread, you may have a slightly shifted magnet. A couple of drops of glue will fix the problem.

OK, would something like this do the job?

Anything plastic and metal friendly would work. Be careful so the glue is contained inside the magnet groove. Also, do not touch the grease while taking it apart/ putting it back together.
