Hi
I assembled my new combo today and plugged it into a USB port , one of the THQs had a blue light (no other lights) and the combo was not detected by windows and does not show up in the config program. I checked the USB board was connected correctly and tried again - nothing.
Then followed the hard reset procedure - I shorted the boot jumper and it then shows up as a njoy32 controller (not GNX Dual THQ + SEM-V) removed the jumper - the config program shows a "CPUID read data" error, I then flashed the correct firmware rebobot and ... computer still does not see the combo. Please help with any advice.
BTW - I have also opened a support ticket #6446 regarding this issue, and ticket #6432 regarding GNX MFH (Multi Functional Holder) missing from order.
I have not received a reply to either yet.
Regards

Re: GNX Dual New THQ + SEM-V Combo does not show up as a USB device
Please see this video which shows exactly your product. After the assembling part you’ll find what needs to be done in software to have it running properly. And if there are issues please ask before taking extreme measures like shorting jumpers.
Re: GNX Dual New THQ + SEM-V Combo does not show up as a USB device
Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply, firstly let me clarify the “GNX Dual THQ + SEM-V Combo” was shipped from the factory pre-assembled (one of your newer products) so to finish the assembly all I did was add the levers, handles and USB/Bus cables.
After researching in the forum and reading the USB controller manual, it suggested performing a hard reset on the controller, which requires that you short the “Boot” jumper to allow the device to be recognized in the Zbootloader2 software … not exactly what I would call “extreme measures”.
BTW I have 30 years’ experience as an electronics/software service engineer, so I guess I know how to flash devices. Anyway the point is that Windows does not see the “GNX Dual THQ + SEM-V Combo” as a device so the software cannot see it either.
There are no other issues, just as stated, the USB controller cannot be seen as a device in windows.

Re: GNX Dual New THQ + SEM-V Combo does not show up as a USB device
Try killing background running software like Aorus, Corsair, Razer, Logitech etc. Run VKBDevCfg and zBootloader as Admin. Plug the unit directly to computer USB.
If there's any other name in the Device list other than *anything*THQ* try clicking on Restart button in VKBDevCfg or Reset in zBootloader. Reset to default and Find&AutoConfig should have it recognized properly, as shown in the video.
What firmware did you flashed? Could you please post a screenshot so I could see the device list in VKBDevCfg?

Hi
Please find attached screenshots taken with the unit connected to a mainboard USB and apps run as Administrator. As you can see there is no device in either VKBDevCfg or zBootloader2. I flashed using "\v2_09_0-XT\_GNX_USB_Controller_v2.09.0.vkb" and the flash was successful. I have also tested the unit on a laptop with the same result.

Could you open up the 2 THQs and post pictures with the position of the jumpers?

Please confirm that you're using the original USB C to USB A cable to connect to computer. Also, that you haven't tried to change the Subaddress of the THQs from buttons.
What happens if you disconnect the slave modules and leave connected to computer only the THQ upgrade with the GNX HID controller?

Hi
Yes, I am using the original USB cable that was sent with the combo, no I have not tried to change the Subaddress of the THQs from buttons; what would be the point of doing that when the combo is not working?
Connecting the THQ upgrade with the GNX HID controller only; does not change anything-same outcome … not recognized in windows.

What happens when you connect the GNX HID controller to computer? Is the LED coming on at all?
Can you try a different computer port? A few people have reported the joysticks are not working when plugged into 3.0 USB ports.

Hi
After connecting the USB cable, the LED on the GNX HID controller lights up a steady blue.
The cable is plugged into a USB2 port and I have tried several other ports on my desktop and laptop.

Re: GNX Dual New THQ + SEM-V Combo does not show up as a USB device
I know the local vendor already sent a new one, but I'm pretty sure the one that you have is still fine and there's just some piece of software blocking its access; maybe a reboot in safe mode would help.
Re: GNX Dual New THQ + SEM-V Combo does not show up as a USB device
Hi
I have tried the USB controller on a different PC this morning, its a workstation with Windows 10 Enterprise; no other software ... no office, no 3rd party bloatware and no addons ... and no controller.
I did try safe mode the other day with the same result, thanks for the sugestion anyway; I have given up wasting time on this.

Have you tried plugging it into a Linux box while tailing syslog and seeing if it even enumerates?
