Okay, I changed the MPL from 8 to 9, went to Actions-Set. I then attempted to calibrate all the axes on the stick and pressed the A2 button, at which point the stick lit up white for a moment.
Looks like the problem persists, however

When calibrating from the configurator, you don't need to press any button on the GNX. After moving all axes, you need to end the calibration by pressing End Calibr.

Re: Gladiator NXT - GNX Premium Hat Not Working
Okay, I tried calibrating again by clicking "Start Calibr", moving all axes including thumbstick, and then clicking "End Calibr"
It's still showing as 255

Show better the Profile-Axes tab.
Let's try a couple more settings - in Profile-Buttons, remove the uSSw stick switch (change it to Button). At the same time, in Profile-POVs, change 8way to Discrete, Set, calibrate all axes. Screenshot.
I made a video just in case.
If all else fails, then you can replace the ministik with a push-button hut from the ZIP kit. And check its work by clicking on all possible positions, having previously activated the Poll checkbox in the Profile-Buttons tab.
It is advisable to take a photo with the contact of the ministik's comb during the first disassembly.

Re: Gladiator NXT - GNX Premium Hat Not Working
Okay, I changed it to buttons just like the video:
I noticed a light change on the stick:
After clicking "Action-Set," I went to "Tools-Start Calibr" and moved all the axes, then clicked "Tools-End Calibr"
But otherwise, thumbstick is still unresponsive

It remains to check the last method - to replace the ministik with a push-button HAT and check its operation. A video on this process is here.

Re: Gladiator NXT - GNX Premium Hat Not Working
Trying to disassemble it, but I can't get that bottom hat off, no matter how much I pry or pull. The other two were no problem.
edit: Disregard. Just needed to be patient.
edit2:
So it looks like this could potentially be my issue. Looks like at least one of the pads came loose (right next to where it's silkscreened "X1"):

In order not to be without the GNX R for a while, while the new mini-stick arrives, I advise you to install a button-type HAT.
For replacement, contact the dealer from whom you purchased.
I would just solder and be done.

Yeah. I ordered it from the site, so hopefully no issues getting a replacement. For now, I'm going to swap it out. I don't entirely trust my soldering skills not to turn this from "bad" to "worse"
You've been a huge help, though! This was a tricky little issue to diagnose!
