I want to replace my grip fasteners in my gunfighter. The problem is when I take the screw out completely, the actual fasteners refuse to slide out and I can’t seem to pull them out. I don’t want to ruin the threading so I could use a little help.
Does anyone have any idea how to properly remove and replace them?

Edit 2: after applying WD40 (lightly on the exterior of the fasteners - I was careful to not get them on the interior contacts) and a little brute force, one end came out and I was able to knock out the end but inserting a screwdriver in on one side, and tapping the other side out from the interior. The new fasteners seem to fit MUCH better. The original ones are a full circle in shape, but the new ones have a small flattened end on one side of the circle. I still have no idea why they were so jammed in there.
Thanks

You don't have to take out the screw completely. Just loosen it, pull the grip out of the base and the fastener should just slide out.

First of all, the screw is on the wrong side of the fastener; it's supposed to be inserted on the other end.
I suggest to take the screw out completely and try to push the 2 cylinders out with a screwdriver from the hole on the bottom of the grip; careful not to damage the pins/connectors during this operation.

I'm aware of this, thank you. I was using the leverage of the screw being in on that side to pull out the fasteners. I edited my original post. They're out now, but they were really jammed in there good. They also look different from the new replacement fasteners.

Use a screwdriver to block the main cylinder and tighten the screw all the way in the other cylinder so they would push each other out.
