Programming Microstick mode switch?

Postby KiwiPete » Tue May 19, 2020 5:14

Hello!

Received my first VKB controller - a LH Kosmosima Premium. Have now ordered the rudder peddles :)

I am wanting to have the Microstick button have two options based on (I think) the Tempo command. The first action - a short press = 300ms is to act as say button 29. The second, longer press is to swap between the axes and the POV hat like it normally does. I would also repeat this in order to have a short click assigned to button 30 with the Hat switch is active, with a longer click returning the microstick to it's axes function. Any advice on this would be appreciated. I'm unable to locate the appropriate command from the Tempo options - I've also hunted unsuccessfully for other commands that would enable this.

Thanks for your advice and guidance you can offer.

Cheers.

Congrats on getting an excellent joystick! :) To program the ministick as you wish make sure you're flashed and calibrated properly, like in this video: https://youtu.be/mCajFZ9e9gw
After that open the configurator, go the Physical buttons panel, click on the uSSw button and set it as TempoB. Hit Set at the end in the Action tab. Tempo Time could get adjusted in Global/Common panel.

Hey Mike, could you elaborate this a bit? What exactly doesn't work for you?

Hi Fallout9,

thank you for answering me quite fast!
This is the standard config:
1.JPG

none button lights up on pressing the POV

-> Pressing the POV red LED lights up and i can switch between POV an AXES.

So, i did the steps as shown form you above.
Then i short press the button on my POV and it shows that button 13 blinks very short (take very many times to catch it on screenshot) - but a long press didnt switch the red LED on to enter AXES-mode.

Click on that blue uSSw button and in the new window pull down the menu under Switched by and select Tempo B. Leave the POV on start box checked if you want it to start in POV mode, uncheck it if you want it to start in axes mode. Close that new window and press the Set button. Now you should have a short press on the ministick as a button and a long press as a switch between axes mode and buttons mode.

And after this - if i press the POV-Button longer then the red led should begin to light up or?

For the Leds configuration tab to appear, you need to add additional lines to the zconfig.ini file. And then it will be possible to customize the indication of modes to your liking. And not only modes, but also a lot of events.

First you need to find out where which Led is located and their possible colors. We go to Test-Misc and in the lower right corner in LedN enter a number from 0 to 12 and hold Fast Test.
With each new number we memorize (you can write down on paper) the location of the Leds. After checking, restart the controller with the Restart button (in the Action tab) and the configurator. And already with this knowledge, you can go to the Global-External-Leds tab for setting up various events.
