Flashing buttons
Hello,
My MFG Pro MKII is triggering buttons when I move the stick around the axis. In the DefConfig screen I see that buttons 9, 18 and 23 are flashing as if they are momentarily pushed.
This happens on an irregular time interval, not something that happens all the time.
I tried already opening the base and reconnecting wires. Sometimes it goes away but after a few days it is back again.
I was able to get it in a small video in the VKBDefConfig screen and also of the Windows Game Controllers screen. The last one shows the axis movement together with the flashing buttons.
Can you please advise?

Re: Flashing buttons
Clean up the contacts - the 3 pads on the base shaft and the pins on the bottom of the grip. Use cotton and (just a little) bit of alcohol. Make sure the springs are pushing down the pins in the bottom of the grip so it would make contact when installed on the base.
It would also help if you'd post some screenshots, as per section's requirements.

Re: Flashing buttons
Thanks for the reply, tried the cleaning but didn't help.
To give full information:
- Gunfighter Mk.II Base (Rev.B) version 1.94B
- MCG PRO grip (3-pin Rev.B) EN
- 1 #40 spring on each axis
- #30 cams on both axis.
I've added screenshots from both DevConfig and Windows Game Controllers because the latter shows the axis position together with the buttons. I also made .avi videos but they cannot be uploaded to this forum.
Please let me know if more information is required.

Re: Flashing buttons
I recommend that you follow paragraph 1 of this message.
Then you need to update the firmware so that a simple rule is observed - the firmware should be the one recommended in brackets in the very first line of the configurator ("header").
Above the recommended - it is possible, below - it is impossible.
And only after these actions we carry out item 2 of the message.
Everything extreme lies here.

Re: Flashing buttons
Ok, thank you for your help.
All the steps are done.
At the moment everything looks good. I'll wait a couple of days to see if the problem is gone and report back.
Unless of course if you want more information now.

Re: Flashing buttons
Hello,
The problem has returned again. It was a bit better for a few days but now it is the same as before.
The screenshots show the buttons & axis in DevCconfig without touching the stick so you can see that all looks normal.
In the Windows screenshot you also see a screenshot without movement and then one were you see that the same three buttons (9, 18 & 23) are flashing when the stick is moving around.
(I have added the Windows screenshot in the next reply as only 3 attachments can be added to a post)
Can you please advise?

Re: Flashing buttons
Your both firmware and software are outdated. You could find download latest version for both from here: https://vkbcontrollers.com/?page_id=4609. Here's a guide for flashing and calibrating your device: https://youtu.be/8Ht8yMsdlCQ
Also you should stop using Window's joy, it's messing up your device.

Re: Flashing buttons
@fallout9, could you please explain? As mentioned in a previous post I updated to the latest versions as recommended by Ron6.
And the Windows game controllers is not used for calibration but only to show both axis movement and buttons press in one screen.

Re: Flashing buttons
Forget about that, I noticed you're on different version than the stable firmware and software and I assumed you're behind it, but looks like you're on beta which is good.
Are those button flashes showing up in the VKBDevCfg/ Test/ Buttons too or only in Windows controller window?

Re: Flashing buttons
The three buttons show in both DevConfig as in Windows. As shown in my previous post.

Re: Flashing buttons
Next time when your buttons are flashing open up the Joy Tester (https://vkbcontrollers.com/wp-content/u ... Tester.zip) and see if your axes are spiking at the same time.
Looks like a poor connection somewhere.

Re: Flashing buttons
To me the JoyTester does not show spikes but you can see in the buttons window that several buttons give a signal.
If you want I could send you a .avi file of the operation of the stick in JoyTester.
