How to configure T-Rudders Mk.IV and T-Link for Virtual Toe Brakes

Postby rrohde » Fri Jul 07, 2017 18:28

1) Download and unzip:
- Profile for T-Link support http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Profiles/BlackBo ... 1_81_6.zip
- T-Link v.0.66.2 http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Programms/T_link_v0_66_2.zip
- VKBDevCgf-C v.0.78.9.9 http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Programms/VKBDev ... 78_9_9.zip
- VkbJoyTester http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Programms/VKB_JoyTester.zip

2) Run VkbDevCfg-C and load the profile to the controller:
- Click on the BlackBox controller name
- Click on the "Load" button
- Click on the "Set" button
- Close VkbDevCfg-C

3) Run T-Link
- Click on the "SET" square button (left side)
- Press a button on the joystick for "brake" function
- Click on the "Start/Stop" button (T-link start to send data to the BlackBox)

4) For test the brakes run vkbJoyTester (or can use Windows gaming controller applet). Choose the BlackBox controller. Press the "Brake" button on the joystick and move the pedals.

P.S. Never run T-Link and VkbDevCfg-C together!

Moreover it will work for other versions of firmware and VKBDevCfg too.

I am an owner of Gunfighter II + MCG PRO + Pedals IV. Unfortunately, when I try to use T-Link profile provided, I have "Non-compatible profile warning".
Any tricks how to make it work?

Look closely at the pictures. MCG uses 7 axes +1 on the second virtual controller. Using T-link, we, except 7 (main), we also use 6 and 8 axles for separate brakes. But they are already occupied by the axes of the microstick and the brake lever. They need to be released and configured for separate brakes. Not to mention the rest of the setting.

We use firmware above 1.93B, take it here and here configurator.
You need to connect the T-Rudder directly to the BlackBox Gunfighter, and configure the virtual brakes.
In the screenshot, these changes are highlighted. After that, you do not need to use the T-Link program.
The brake lever on the MCG sets the total brake force (adjustable), and the T-Rudder axis releases the corresponding wheel (also dosed).

Thank you for the help!
Everything works great even without T-Link software, the trick was to use this new firmware, which is not available on ftp site.

i have MKII MCG Pro 3 with -Rudde MKIV, how i can set the virtual brake?

PS it's all connect at 1 blackbox

The T-Link don't recognize the T-Rudder. Why?

I want to use the brake lever as a general brake, and the pedal axes to tack and brake on one axle only.

Dear VKB,
It would be appreciated if you could make a tutorial video (like the ones published in Youtube) for the configuration of twist as rudder axis and with "pinkie" or another button as left and right pedal axes.

Best regards,

Robert

Please advise how to setup toe brakes in DCS. My hardware consists of T-Rudder and GNXT Premium stick. I saw the Gunfighter stick response, but I am wondering about the black box connection step with the GNXT, and also how to setup a toe brake on/off button with GNXT. Thanks.
