Two random occurrences make up a batch issue? Wow.

Let us not pile up different things. Spikes are one, wires another. "Subsequently doesn't mean consequently".
And let us deal with the problems in order of their appearance.
By the way, to prevent the continuous appearance of yet another (and another) new problems I would very strongly recommend you stop all attempts to fix whatever problems, and put the device aside except for guided diagnostic manipulations. Solely diagnostic. Only guided.
To look into the problem we need pictures; the ones you provided are better than nothing but far from what we need to clearly see the details.
For example, the whites are washed out, so the whole connector pair (plug and socket) appear as a solid white blot, not as two different parts.
Focus leaves plenty of room for improvement, too.
Please re-take all pictures. Take your time to arrange decent lighting (please use NO flash), put the telephone on some sort of support so there is no shaking problem. It would help to compose the picture so that the parts in question take 90 per cent of the picture, not 20.
I am not being capricious, hope you understand.
We need to see everything in tiny detail, and this asks for high quality pictures.
VKB HQ is on holidays (so am I, by the way) as Chinese New Year is marching in. Hence there is no use sending multiple emails to all known addresses.
Please do things step by step, and do not continue trying to fix anything any longer.
I hope to see the pictures soon. We will think them over.
Best Regards,
AeroGator

Let's see this:
Gimbal1.jpg

total image size: 1024x768
relevant image size: 398x399
relevant image relative size: 20.19%
wasted space: 79.81%

Compare to:
Watch1.jpg

total image size: 1225x1207
relevant image size: 1225x1207
relevant image relative size: nearly 100%

By the way, shot hand-held on a very ordinary China-made smartphone with no special lighting.
