Got answers by Ilya (UIV) to the questions asked in in this thread:
Q: Will the twist adapter only work with the MCG? I am planing buying a warthog adapter and use the twist with my warthog grip. Will that work?
A: Now only for MCG.
Q:There are two ministicks, can we use both of them as proportional ministick as the same time or does one have to be a hat while the other can be a ministick? Due to Windows direct X limitation or something like that, I don't remember exactly.
A: Both. But can change to HAT-mode by VKBDevcfg-C.
Q: The button called "4-buttons" is it really a hat? Cause the finger "print" on it make it look like a two side button.
A: HAT. We will change the shape.
Q: And finally what is the secondary, metal trigger usually used for In Real Life? Like in the Ka-50? If so can it be folded up, and if so does the fold up position is recognised as a button, to activate safety?
A: I don't know now. We didn't make final decision.

Re: Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
I have only little experience with electronics and I was wondering what sort of endeavor is it to attach a grip like this into a base? Or will there be a fully featured joystick product with the MCG later?
My Cobra M5 has served me well but the MCG seems to be just the sort of thing I want for DCS

rrohde,
In DCS Ka-50 (and other RL Russian fighters) the real trigger folded up turn off weapons release (safety), this is corrected modeled in DCSW - like is modeled fold up the Kg-12B trigger in Bf109 K-4 turn OFF cannon - same in Mig-15 (but strangely in Fw 190 D-9they use the same IL-2:BoS "gamey" way: the trigger "magically" fold down every time that trigger is pressed, and up when released - weird to see).
So will be desirable that MCG foldable trigger press a button in up position, to be useful in Ka-50.
If, for reduce production cost VKB opt to don't don this ask the fore leave in grip circuit position for additional button, so interested (advanced) owners can have option to add by yourself.

Just plug the joystick in base connector and turn a ALLEN bolt.

@Sokol,
yeah, VKB HQ is working on a solution for that trigger to include a tad more functionality. We will announce this hopefully soon!

Why is it not compatible with the Gladiator, and just the the Gladiator Pro?
Re: Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
Could we get an update on this grip please, I think on Reddit it was said there will be three options, could we please know abit more about these three options ?
When do we expect release?
Can we have some photo's to look at ?
When is the twist adaptor going to be released ?
Are all theee grips going to be out of the same black resin material or will there be a metal version to the pro available for extra ?

Re: Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
When it becomes available to order, will the twist adapter for the Gunfighter and Gladiator Pro also be on sale? Because I'd like to order them together.
Re: Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
Yes, I want 2 of them. Where do I sign up for that mailing list?
Re: Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
I have a question about the way VKB grips connect to the joystick bases and how they communicate.
I can see from your product images that the connection is five wires like on the Warthog. The warthog grip simply has chained shift registers inside, but I suspect that VKB uses something more advanced since the Modern Combat Grip has multiple analog axes in addition to the buttons.
Would it be in VKB's interest to release specifications of how to read the grip state (button presses, axis values on the MCG etc.) so that DIY joystick builders could use it?
A spec would allow for connecting it to an Arduino, Leo Bodnar board or similar.
I don't think doing this would cut into your market for the joystick bases, but it would allow your excellent grips to be used with homegrown setups like delta throttles and more unusual devices like collectives that neither VKB nor any of your competitors currently provides.
Seeing as you actively market your grips for use with the Thrustmaster Warthog, I'm guessing you might be positive to this as well.
