would it be possible to have as an upgrade for the NXT this part which is on the NXT EVO?

The EVO's back panel wouldn't fit into the NXT. But you're not losing much, the only difference is the momentary switch on the EVO instead of the NXT's encoder; that's 2 buttons for both.
