Tax calculation off?

Hi,

I'm currently planning my first flight sim setup. I was browsing the eu store and adding some stuff, calculating and projecting project costs and so on. Then I noticed the tax in the basket, which seems to be at a rate of 21%. Germany usually has 19% tax rate though. And right now it is even lowered to 16%. Is this a calculation error or do I miss something here?

Hi Ravenskull,

Thanks for your interest in VKB products.

We are based in the Netherlands. Therefore, according to EU regulations, we have to apply local NL VAT rate which is 21% for any customers who demand delivery within EU states.
If the delivery is made outside of EU, the VAT is not applicable for the order and automatically deducated.

Hi Eduard, thanks for the fast reply!

I really wondered because usually I pay the German tax rate when ordering within from EU. That's why I was so curious, I thought it was always that way.

I've looked it up further tough. It turns out there are some rules (or thresholds) which decide whether the tax rate of the country is applied from where the goods are shipped or the rate of the country where the goods are shipped to. So you are probably correct. Again: Thanks for the answer :)
