QUestion re Additional axis on MCG

Hello.
simply by pressing a modifier button on an MCG, I want to transform the Y axis on the MCG into the z axis which is not used as it has no twist. So i want to use Y as pitch as normal, but by pressing a modifier key I want the game to see z axis.
Can someone help to explain how or is it not possible?
