How to buy upper extension insert separately

Hi,
I am building a DA40 simit. I've printed myself a custom made grip, but still need to shorten the extension in order not to have too much stick travel compared to the original.
I want to build a shorter extension, the tubes came today. I however couldn't remove the upper insert from the extension I bought. (The lower insert can easily be removed, the upper one seems to have a press fit.)
Is there a way to buy an upper insert alone for installation in the custom-build extension?
