No Z axis / trigger

I have just received the MCG Pro En for Gunfighter mkI revA.

I have followed the guide on https://vkbcontrollers.com/?faq=how-to- ... ar-15-2018 to the best of my understanding, and everything appears to be working, except the axis for the foldable trigger, which remains at the middle value.

Anybody else with the same experience? Did I receive a broken one, or is there some non-trivial task to perform to get it to work?

Your joystick is alive!
Two foldable trigger axes are hidden. They use virtual controller #2 so you cannot see their response as controller #1 ones. Movement of foldable trigger is converted to virtual buttons. In addition to one physical button linked with trigger.
Here http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Documentations/controller_2_10_En.pdf you can find VKB controllers User Guide (how to set up your device). Soft- and firmware you can download from here http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/.
Any questions are welcome!

Thanks for your help, I've figured it out now. I'll be using the armed/not armed buttons with pulses to extend or retract weapons on Elite Dangerous, that's pretty cool.

The summary, for those who might be scared by the PDF document:
Start VKBDevCfg-C.exe (in admin mode)
1 In the lower panel, select the "Profile" pane.
2 Select the "Axes" sub-pane.
3 Select the "Axes2Buttons" in the upper sub-sub-pane.
4 Check the boxes you desired checked under "Enable MCG PRO Trigger"
5 When you are done, click the "Set" joystick icon with the red arrow
Go to Test > Buttons / POVs, check that the trigger flickers two buttons (24 and 28 for me) when you arm/disarm, then that buttons are switched on as you press the trigger (buttons 25 and 3 for me).
