question regarding customizing setup

Postby Pierdzimir » Tue Feb 25, 2025 11:13

Hi there,
I'm looking to update my current setup.
I need help in ordering the right parts. Search function in the shop is a bit confusing, I have difficulty searching for different extensions.
i'm interested in getting:
1) Gunfighter IV ‘Modern Combat Edition’ Ultimate
2) STECS Throttle System (probably "Standard") (does the WW2 combo has 1 throttle or 2? It looks like it's one, that can be split into 2)
3) SEM-V module
4) GNX FSM-GA (Front Switchboard Module – General Aviation)
5) T-Rudder Pedals Mk.V

I plan to have joysick and gnx on the right hand side, throttle and sem v on the left.
Does VKB sell other mounts/parts i should add to this to make it work together?
I'd prefer to mount this to my existing table, instead of getting a whole new chair with mounts and sheet.
Thank you
Konrad

You can have either FSM or SEM attached to the STECS by the MFH, like shown in this video. For the remaining one (either FSM or SEM) you'll have to find a way to attach it to your mounts/desk, as they can't function unsecured, they will slide around. Also, if you need to get one of them acting like an independent unit you'll need a GNX HID Controller too.
Just a heads up - if you'll attach the MFH to the STECS that will only be viable for desktop use, as the unit will be simply too long for mounts.

Thank you for the reply. I've whitelisted "my build":
1) Gunfighter IV will be mounted to UCM-S for Gunfighter (can i mount GNX FSM-GA to the UCM mount above joystick?)
2) STECS Throttle System - Standard will be mounted to UCM-S for STECS (can i mount GNX SEM above the STECS?)
I looks like i can skip GNX MFH and mount both GNX modules directly to the UCMs, question is do i need any additional adapter plates between GNX modules and UCMs?
Thank you!

Yes to both. You can mount both the FSM and SEM (make sure you chose the Vertical SEM) on the UCM (there is a perforated plate included, which will allow attaching the modules).
You can skip the MFH, but you will need 1 GNX HID Controller for the module which will get mounted over the Gunfighter. The module which get mounted over the STECS can get plugged into the STECS with a USB C to USB C cable, which is included.
This way, you'll end up with 3 USB devices: the Gunfighter, the independent module on the Gunfighter side and the STECS + the second module.

Hi,

I have almost the same question as Pierdzimir, but instead of a Gunfighter I have a Gladiator NXT EVO on the right side.
So my configuration would be :
-On the right : Gladiator NXT EVO and FSM-GA mounted above, both on a UCM-S GL
-On the left : STECS Standard and SEM mounted above it, both on a UCM-S for STECS Standard

As I understood, the SEM can be directly plugged into the STECS Standard with the provided USB-C to USB-C cable, but for the FSM-GA would I also need to buy a separate GNX HID Controller like for the Gunfigther or could I directly plug it to the Gladiator NXT EVO base using some cable ? I think I saw somewhere that the FSM-GA could be plugged to the Gladiator base using a GNX BUS (Type-C)-(JST2.0-4) Interface cable, but I am a bit concerned about the cable being too short... Can you tell me the length of the USB-C to USB-C cable provided to link the SEM and the STECS and the length of the GNX BUS (Type-C)-(JST2.0-4) Interface cable (if indeed it would be an option to plug the FSM and Gladiator base together) ?

The USB C to USB C included in module's package is 25cm long ( you can get a 40cm one) and the USB C to JST extra cable is 35cm long.

Thank you very much for the quick reply and the links for the cables.
So it means that I can use these cables to link the FSM to the Gladiator and the SEM to the STECS instead of having to connect each directly to the PC right?

Yes, the USB-C to JST cable (extra) will connect the Gladiator and the FSM and the USB C to USB C cable (included) will connect the SEM to STECS.

Just to make sure, should've mentioned this from the first time - the 25cm USB C to USB C cable is included only with the vertical modules packages (SEM-V, THQ-V, FSM-GA, STEM).
