Using SCG Grip without the base

What would be the correct way to use a SCG GNX Add-On Grip without the base? I'd like to use one in a custom solution I'm working on, but I'm not sure how I would go about connecting just the grip to my PC.

I saw the "GNX USB Controller (HID-Main)" on the store, but the product listing only mentions the GNX modules, not one of the grips. Could this be used?
