STECS with Slide Rail?

Has there been any word if/when an STECS throttle will be coming with a slide rail? I have been holding out hoping that one would come out.

Work is underway, no one can say for sure the release date.

some Christmas, probably.
Seriously, don't count on it this year. We have it slated, but the time isn't set yet.

That's about what I figured, it being nearly November already, so I ordered myself one of the STECS Maxi units.

When a rail unit comes... will there be some kind of upgrade option? I'm debating getting a STECS now, or wait for a Rail system (which will be much better for space sims, i think...)
