I've been thinking about this some more and was wondering, would it be possible to connect the STEM to a GNX THQ-V, install a GNX USB controller into the GNX THQ-V and then plug that into my PC?
Because, I'm guessing, installing the USB controller into the GNX THQ-V takes away the Type-C to Type-C connection, would I have to connect the STEM to the GNX THQ-V using a Type-C to JST2.0-4 cable? Is that possible and would it work? Thanks.

Yup, the USB to JST cable would help with that.

That's great!
And one more question.. To allow me flexibility in positioning the STEM I could extend the length of the USB to JST cable with a Type-C to Type-C module cable connected to it using a USB Type-C coupler?
Thanks.

Working great for me. Just make sure it couples all the pins (the ones marked USB3 should do that).

Thanks. I've ordered a USB 3 one, ready for when my VKB parts arrive.

So I have the USB controller inserted into my GNX THQ-V and that's plugged into the PC, configured and working fine. However, I have a JST cable from the GNX THQ-V plugged into STEM module but I can't get the Device Config to recognise it and get it working. I've tried hitting the Default button in Device Config on the the GNX but I can't get it to see the STEM.

What firmware is running on the USB controller? It needs to be newer than STECS.

Device Config at the top says: VKB Device Config v0.92.88 ( NJoy32 firmware v2.16.0)
and the THG module says: VKBSim NXT THQ XT2 v2.176

I'm not sure if that's the latest, I'll go and check. Thanks.

It was my mistake. When I disconnected the STEM from my STECS I'd forgotten to reconnect the cable inside to the USB bus. I have it working now. Thanks.
