MCG Ultimate Gate Count axes as Mouse

Postby KPX » Wed Jul 26, 2023 17:34

Hello,
The MCGU Gate count button is defined as (on my config) :
- POV 8 positions
- axes ROTZ - Slider 1
A long press on the middle button switch from POV to Axes (and vice and versa). Button 33 is defined as µSSW - Tempo POV2 and is the switch button.

1. I would like to have button 33 seen when I configure my keys in game. A short push would activate a button in simulator. Long press will continue to act as a switch.
How can I program this (if possible).

2. Other question : how can I program the gate cont axes (rotz and slider) to act as a mouse ? I can do this with the POV mode but I do not know how to do that in axis mode.

Hope you can help me.

Have a nice day.

JD

Reprogram that switch button from Tempo to TempoB.

fallout9 has you covered on the passing short press as a logical button

I am failing to get a mouse mode working with that setup though. Does not seem to want to engage for me once out of POV mode/Long Press #33.
I am going to mess around a bit and see if I can figure out what is going on with the mouse mode.

I had to do a little tweaking on the TempoB
But I wrote up a method that I believe accommodates what you were looking for KPX.

I put it as a second comment/message in a How to thread I just created.
You need the 1st and 2nd image instructions from the Original Post at the top.

Hope it helps.

Hello,
Great thanks, both methods are working here. I can switch from mouse to POV on GateCont button.
Last thing woul be to be able to use the short click as a usable button in sim, but it is great for me to have this Mouse/POV switch.

Thanks a lot for your clever help.

Best Regards.
JD.

The second post should be a TempoB version. Just need to use the first 2 images from the top most post. The first two images/steps are identical for both methods of the setup.
Regular ButonAlt uSSw and TempoB uSSw.

Hello,
My mistake. Tempo is working. As it is a short press and I did'nt log joystick in test (devcfg), I was not correctly seeing the short press button.
I ticked "log joystick" and saw that tempo worked as I expected.
Once again a lot of thank you, I would never guessed this way to solve my request :D .
Great idea also to put references to the manual.

Have fun.
