20cm vs 10cm vs no extension?

Hi,
My setup is a bit constrained in terms of space and I would very much prefer a tabletop version in that regard.
I'm wondering how much the extensions actually help with gunnery and dogfighting etc? Do they provide an advantage in that regard?
And if yes, what length extension do you prefer/recommend? 20cm or 10cm?
