Hello,
I have a GLADIATOR NXT EVO "WWII COMBAT EDITION" and the description mentions a 8 way HAT switch. Assuming it is the movable switch where the thumb is I can only get 4 ways to work - basically I can only assign buttons when pressing up, down, left, right. Is this correct ? wouldn't it be a 4 way switch then ? I am confused about the name 8 way switch.

In most sims, if you press up/down together with left/right, your HAT switch will do just that and function as an 8 way switch.
I don't know about the new WWII stick but try it out in your favorite sim.
It can also be that you still need to assign those functions in the given sim or that your favorite sim only uses 4 control slots for the HAT switch, either way your switch should work like an 8 way switch.

What is the sim you want to use it in btw?

There are only 4 buttons on that HAT, but it could be set up through software to act like a 8 way HAT. A guide will come soon.
