Mounting gunfighter stick on custom base (forcefeedback base)

Ive been flying with a MS sidewinder FFB2 for decades, and recently up/downgraded to a gladiator NXT stick. There is a lot I like about the NXT, but losing force feedback was a much bigger deal than I had thought, especially in "analog" planes. I dont understand why no one has come out with a new FFB hotas, but Im willing to make my own contraption, putting a gunfighter F14 grip on a sidewinder FFB2 base, possibly a new "diy" forcefeedback base in the future. The question is, can I? can I wire up the gunfighter grip directly to a VKB blackbox to control all the buttons and POV hats? Has anyone done something similar?
