MCG Ultimate

Postby david_wi » Wed Dec 29, 2021 14:59

Hi Guys

The metal grip is very cold now when winter is coming in.
Any ideas how to make it more pleasant?

Thanks, David

Put a sock on it?
Wrap the grip with a resistive heater wire?
Wear a glove?
Coat your hand with a thick layer of rendered bear fat?
Game inside a structure of some sort with walls and a roof and central heating? (In some cultures we call this a "house".)
Switch to the MCG-Pro for the winter and revel in its plasticky less-coldness?

I vote for some nifty fingerless gloves, and then you can get a bomber jacket and some aviator shades and quote lines from Top Gun.

Sexy flex volleyball will have to wait for summer, though.

No worries.

Seriously though, some thin driving gloves (calfskin or deerskin) might be your best bet. They're what I use when I take my Porsche out in winter. Can still feel the wheel but my hands are warm.

J/K, I have a VW. But my suggestion stands.

Also, for the MCGU2, they could put a heater core on the inside. Power it via a separate USB plug.

Thanks for your kind words, but by chance I found a joystick cover (pouch) from another brand and I think it will isolate it between usage.
The room is heated from air condition but it is not helping much.

Bye, David

Never tried it on a grip but in some similar situations I use a blow drier - careful though, move it over the surface evenly and don't overheat. Plastic parts including those inside the hull may not be happy about it.

Brilliant idea but I am afraid for the delicate electronics in the grip.
Will give it a try never the less.

As a Canadian:

Have you tried holding an icicle in your hand for 10 minutes first, then switching to the stick?

I can guarantee you it will feel warm by comparison.
