Sensor magnet placement
I ask for a possible future modding I collect information for. If I glue the magnet on the end of a steel rod does the presence of steel affects how the sensor picks up the signal or it would work as intended?

Re: Sensor magnet placement
Will work on metal axles. For example, a hole is drilled in the head of a bolt slightly larger than the magnet.
Or you can do without the hole altogether by simply gluing the magnet in the center of the bolt head, the rod.
Use magnets with diametrical magnetization only.
This can be easily checked with a needle, which will always occupy one definite position, dividing the magnet into north and south.

Thank you very much for your detailed answer! Im planning to cannibalize a GNXT to make a collective (sorry ). I'd like to use its original parts so magnet type shouldn't be a problem!
