Is there a base plate for the "gunfighter mk iii " to adapt to virpil v3 S mounts?
i've already emailed virpil and was told to ask vkb.

Now, there's no such plate. The only thing that you could do is to use one of their plates and drill new holes to fit the GunFighter base on it. If you'll go this way surely these measurements will help:

Sorry, don’t mean to hijack the thread, but is the base have an open bottom? Meaning, if one removes the base plate, internals of the unit will be open to dust etc. I’m waiting for small base plate to become available to order, and wondered perhaps I can totally remove the tabletop baseplate instead.

If you remove the base plate then yes, the internals are exposed. It's facing down, so not too much to worry about dust getting inside (unless you live in a very dusty environment).
