Connecting a VKB grip directly to a blackbox?

I'm currently working on a DIY stick project, however I'm very happy with my Kosmosima. I've done a bit of research, and I've found confirmation that it is possible to do from VKB, however I'm not too sure as to how. Is it as simple as creating a custom JST-GX12 or JST-RJ45 adaptor (as briefly mentioned here:
https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/195425-vk ... ypass-base) or is it more complicated? If so, how would I go about this project?

Am I right to think that I don't need a base (such as a gunfighter) between the grip and the blackbox, and can simply make my own cable to connect the grips power and signal lines directly to the blackbox to enable use in DIY projects?

Yes, you are right. Can connect the grip directly to the Blackbox.
