MS Flight 2020

Greetings,

I haven't owned any flight hardware in a long time.

Looking for a stick for MS Flight 2020.

Is it possible to configure one of the thumb sticks on the Gunfighter III Space Edition to function as the throttle control?

Would the Gunfighter or Gladiator-K work well for a non-combat flight sim?

Thank you!

I did not see any problems when setting up GF + MCG in FS2020. I think there will be no questions with SCG either. But I will check your option and unsubscribe.

p.s. i checked it - everything works. We make a relative axis without a center from one axis of the microstick (remove the Cn checkbox), calibrate. Assign Throttle to this axis in the sim - that's it, for takeoff :D .

Will Gunfighter will get official support in MS Flight 2020, i.e. default mapping for everything on the stick?

As of now the Gunfighter needs manual mappings made for everything including flight surface controls.

I got elevator working by assigning Joystick L-Y and aileron via L-X but rudder (stick twist) only works when I select Joystick R-Z. L-Z does nothing.

How do you configure sensitivity? Don't see an option in MS Flight nor in VKB Config or Wizzo.
I'd like to reduce sensitivity on some of the flight surface controls to reduce the aircraft jerking suddenly when I slightly twist the stick.

Any and all advice on how to configure the Gunfighter in MS Flight 2020 is welcome.

Thank you!

I'll check for the Steam version later. While the download is in progress and I think it is not fast.
Unlike X-Plane, FS2020 does not support more than 8 (9) axes from one device.
Therefore, you need to count all your axes and, if this limit is exceeded, make corrections for the functioning of the microsticks in the HAT only mode :( .

In addition to the mapping questions related to MS Flight 2020..

I can't fly level. I'm always gaining or dropping altitude. I've tried minute trim wheel adjustments but still can't get it to fly level.

Also it frequently starts drifting to the right.
Tested the stick in Elite Dangerous and have zero drift so I don't think it's a calibration issue unless MS Flight is more sensitive.

update:
I launched the game with different planes in different airports to ensure the plane rolling to the right wasn't a wind issue.. it happens no matter what I do.. fly level for a few seconds, then rolls to the right. I run VKB Joy Tester while playing and it does not show any input to the right. Any idea why I keep rolling right if the tester does not show any right input?

Thanks again!

I have a VBK Gladiator Mk ii. Would like to map a few buttons or axis for it as I have an Alpha Yoke also. I would like to use it for Rudder and Throttle but can't get it to work in MSFS. I see sensitivity, and the axis work in there but in the actual cockpit moving them does nothing. Not sure the correct way to set it up. Can someone help out? Thanks.

Everything is customizable in the game, but it takes some effort. This is not a problem with VKB joysticks - this is done in the game itself, somewhat tricky.

I think we will not discuss the specifics of the game setup here. This is not our problem.

Believe me - everything is fine-tuned, tested.

MS Flight 2020 in controls menu has a sensitivity option in the top left. Reducing sensitivity in all axis greatly improved controls.

I noticed that the POV stick on the Gunfighter 3 Space Edition is triggering 2 directions for each movement.

Example: If I move the POV stick slightly to the lift it triggers a left command. If I move it all the way to the left it's triggering a right command.

This behavior is making quick look camera controls in the game go crazy because it triggers both the direction you intend and the opposite direction.

I've spent all day in Joystick Config app and reading the manual, no clue how to change this behavior so that moving left only triggers left, etc.

Please help! :)

Thanks

Judging by these numbers, the axes of the microstick are not calibrated. They should be calibrated and everything will be fixed.

That did it!
Never considered the POV stick needed to be calibrated along with the normal stick axis.

Thank you!!

Go to Options, then Controls, click on the name of your VKB device in the Controls window, set the Filter on the left side to All, select the control you want to bind a button on your joystick to, make sure again your device is selected and click on the grey box on its right side; in the new window click on the Search By Input box, then click the button on your joystick. Press validate to save the binding into the ingame joystick profile.
Please pay attention to digital versus analog: certain bindings, like Rudder Axis, will work only an axis (analog) is getting binded; other bindings, like Rudder Left or Rudder Right are digital and will work only with buttons binded.

Make sure your device is calibrated before binding controls in game. Also, pay attention at game's demands for analog vs digital (see my above comment).

Something else to keep in mind in FS 2020 is that, depending on the realism setting. You will need to compensate for torque and trim the aircraft for level flight.
