MKIII questions

Immediate apologies if these have been addressed, I'll gladly accept linked posts in regard to these questions if they've been pre-addressed:
A.) I like the new MKIII stick with desktop stand, is there a way to tighten down the joystick motion? I feel like I barely touch the grip and my ailerons and elevators are all over the place. Would be fantastic if I could physically make the grip tougher to move
B.) Is it possible to move the default POV slew from the top center thumbstick (buttons) to the bottom left inverted hat (axis)?
Thank you!!

Hi El Caribe,
There are a few things you might want to try:
- increase the dead zone if the problem manifests only around the middle position of the stick;
- make sure you're using the hard centering cams (there are 2 sets of soft centering cams marked as S on Avia and Space and 2 sets of hard centering cams marked as H on Avia and Space);
- install stronger springs on the cams;
- increase the tension in the dry clutch.
About swapping the POV you mean physically or its software features?

Thank you for your responses to A.) There are a few things you've indicated I'll figure out and try.
In regard to B.) the POV, good clarifying question. I meant the software features. The top middle thumbstick is actually series of buttons (vs. an axis), and this is where I currently control the POV. But I don't like it here because I have to raise my thumb so high up. I'm wondering if I can transition the POV control to the inverted hat thumbstick on the bottom left, which is actually an axis and NOT a series of buttons. I've tried making this transition in DCS, but DCS only recognizes the inverted hat as axis and does not allow me to use this as POV (only thumbsticks as buttons can do this). Does that make sense? Since I only need axis for horizontal, vertical and yaw movement (which are covered by X, Y, and Z), this inverted hat is completely useless as an axis.
Thanks!

So basically you want the Gate Cont ministick to act like the Master Mode ministick. Here's what you need to do:
- open VKBDevCfg and go to Profile/ Buttons. Mark the Poll box on the right side and press on your Gate Cont center button - a red light will flicker on a button; press on that button and in the new window set it as uStick, set it as POV 2, Switch by Tempo, with starting as POV (picture 1). Close that window.
- now go to the Axes tab and set axes 5 and 6 like in picture 2 (same as the ones for the Master Mode ministick).
- next go to POV tab and set the second POV exactly like the one above.
- to save the changes go to the Action tab and press on the Set button. After restart the Gate Cont ministick should be the twin of Master Mode ministick.
About these both Master Mode and Gate Cont ministicks: in this set up they will work both as POVs on start up, both with central push button (short press). The long press (3 seconds by default) on the center button for both is switching from POV mode to HAT mode. If you want any of them to start in HAT mode then uncheck the 'POV mode on start' option from picture 1.
